Reseda is where Honest Maids started and where we still are. The day begins on these streets, somewhere between Sherman Way and Victory Boulevard, before it spreads out across the rest of the San Fernando Valley. That matters for a practical reason rather than a sentimental one. When somebody in Reseda texts on a Tuesday about a Wednesday clean, we are already close enough to give a straight answer instead of a maybe.
Most of this neighborhood went up in the years after the Second World War, which is why so much of Reseda is single story houses on modest lots with a detached garage at the back of the driveway, and why the apartment buildings tucked behind the boulevards tend to be two and three story walkups with carport parking underneath. Homes here hold long settled owners who have been on the same block for decades, working couples, families sharing a house across three generations, and students renting near the campus up in Northridge. Cleaning in Reseda is not one job, it is several, and which one you need depends on which of those you are.
